# The Liberation of the optiplexes(opensea)

*The optiplexes' have risen against tyranny*

### NFTS + IRL Computers dropped

you can either buy and redeem or buy and trade for the color scheme of your dreams.

### background

while its been a great year for laptops the dell optiplexes have been left behind. As offices shifted online, optiplexes were abandoned at abandoned at their cubicles, never to see a zoom call. Eventually during the period of time when we thought things were returning to normal, they corralled into decommissioning row to end their indentured servitude to their corporate overloads and to be washed of their crimes of serving the establishment with 3.4ghz of quad-core power. Destined for recycling, they figured they might as well make a run for it...

### but a 2013 computer in 2021?

for being nearly 10 year old computer, it still holds up with a Geekbench 5 score of 932 for single core and 3409 for multicore [source](https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/9594936) which is comparable to a entry-level i5 2020 Macbook pro. plus 2 dedicated GPUS, not 3080s but at lease you get two of these. Running on linux it pulls its weight. If Mac os is more your style there are plenty of guides on how to install it on this system.
